Emergency Call — Call Us

Frequently Asked Questions

Did you know that pest control is simply the management of a species defined as a pest that impacts adversely on human activities? Our response depends on the importance of the damage done and will range depending on the species of the animal. After eleven years in the business, here are some of the most common questions I hear customers ask. If your question is not here, please contact us so that we can help get you the information you need.

General Questions

We use two types of humane removal. Either an excluder door when we just need the animal out of the area or a Havaheart trap for trap & release situations.

Rats cannot be controlled humanely because of the number of diseases they spread. Certain times of the year, raccoons cannot be humanely controlled because they are a high risk to carry rabies.

The animal stays in the area and contributes to the local ecosphere.

There isn’t a “typical charge” because it depends on everything that needs to be done to remove the animal, and prevent future issues. Jobs can range from $300.00 up to $2,000.00+.

It certainly can be. Most companies focus on true pest control, getting rid of bugs, in and around the house. Very few actually have a dedicated technician that knows how to take care of the animal side of pest control, and most of the time they use kill traps to get that done.

Service Information

Most local agencies will loan a live trap to a citizen, but then it is up to that citizen to safely transport and release the trapped animal.

Call a professional that is trained on what to do, and has the experience to remove the wild animal that is inside the home. Do not, under any circumstances, try to remove the animal on your own. If you are not experienced in removal, the wild animal could easily injure the home owner.

Depending on the animal caught, it will be taken to a location at least 10 miles away and will be released back out into the wild.

A phone call will be returned within an hour, depending on what we are doing, and then a determination will be made on whether it is an emergency, or an appointment can be scheduled.

Call a professional to determine the best course of action. A decision can be made after a few short questions.

Emergency Questions

Bats, snakes, birds, or any other wild animal inside the actual residence.

I will make the determination to leave the appointment I am currently at if it is deemed an actual emergency. If it is determined to be a true emergency, there is a $99.00 fee.

I have had to remove wild animals from inside a residence several times.

Stay calm, and reassure the customer that everything will be alright. Take your time, and think through the process of the situation before reacting.

I had to catch a skunk in the attic of a newly constructed home. It entered the home through a front door that had been left open, climbed the stairs that were directly in front of the door, and walked into the attic through a closet door.
